Pay Board Approves Retroactive Raises and Aerospace Cuts
Washington reports the Pay Board will reimburse retroactive raises from the wage price freeze if the raise does not exceed 7 percent, effective for deferred pay during the 90 day freeze from Aug 15 to Nov 13. The panel also trims aerospace contracts, lowering the first year raise from 12.2 to 8.3 percent, with 34 cents an hour now and 17 cents in the second year. labor abstained and unions plan suit. The Price Commission also tightens utility rate rise pre-notifications for firms with annual business over $100 million.
