Mrs. Acheson Dies Suddenly at 76 in Washington
Mrs. R. A. Acheson, 76, of 303 West Jefferson street, died Tuesday afternoon at the United Presbyterian home after being stricken near her car on the Home grounds. Two Men Die in Iowa Plane Crash While Fox Hunting
Rupert Rowley and Bud Hatzky, both farmers from Colwell, were killed when a small cabin plane crashed about 11 a.m. ten miles northeast of Charles City as they were spotting foxes from the air for hunters on the ground. A hunter heard the engine and crash. The wreckage was found by two hunters. Rowley was dead on arrival and Hatzky died shortly after.

Iowa youths' joy ride ends in Quincy Illinois
Four Iowa teenagers from Oskaloosa New Sharon and Eddyville admitted stealing two cars and selling a shotgun during a multi state joyride. They started in Oskaloosa with a car owned by Hugh Short then took a second car from Robert Clar Cedar Rapids and abandoned it near the Soldiers and Sailors Home in Quincy. Three Iowa representatives filed a bill proposing a one cent per gallon gas tax increase to fund primary highways.
