Rotterdam January 14 Rembrandt's The Night Watch suffered serious damage when Sigrist a recently discharged naval cook entered the Rijksmuseum and slashed the painting with a knife. He was arrested and said the act was vengeance against the state for his naval discharge.
Esther Dahlke pleads guilty to a bigamous marriage charge after being brought to trial in Buffalo New York. The case centers on a union conducted while she was under the legal age. The proceedings occurred on January 14 in Buffalo.
A woman pleaded guilty to bigamy in county court for marrying Lloyd Hooper last November while still married to William Dahlke. She admitted the marriage occurred within six months of the Hooper ceremony and stated she would try it again if given the chance.
