Mary Yansky dies after lengthy illness in Richmond area
Mrs. Mary Yansky widow of James Yansky died this morning at 7 40 at the home of Mrs. Agnes Krots 610 North Marion avenue where she had lived since last August. Born March 11 1853 in Bohemia she came to America in 1868 with her parents and settled near Richmond. She had lived in the Richmond area most of her life and was married in 1891. Four stepsons survive Albert Yansky Portland Oregon Joe and Frank Iowa City and Mrs Joe Chabal near Richmond. Funeral services will be Sunday at two at L A Jones funeral home conducted by Dr F W Eastwood with burial at Elm Grove Cemetery.

California bandit Burke hanged at Folsom Prison
Walter Burke, 32, Sacramento theater bandit, was executed at Folsom Prison California at 9 04 a m after being convicted for his role in the 1927 prison riot that left 13 dead. The execution was the first of two planned for the riot. Dr P M Day pronounced Burke dead thirteen minutes later.
