The Washington Volunteer Firemen completed plans for their annual Pancake Day to be held next Wednesday at the new city hall and fire station with two service periods from 11 to 1 and 5 to 7. Leo Beauchamp, chairman, notes about 800 pounds of whole hog sausage will be served with pancakes and eggs. All fire trucks will be moved outside the station but ready for calls. The city council will hold open house to view the Municipal Building.

Wellman School Lunch Prices Raised by Five Cents
Mid-Prairie Community School District increased lunch prices by five cents starting last Tuesday. Superintendent Curtis told the board that the lunch account stood at 1535.68 with unpaid bills over 6000. For two months food costs exceeded income. Daily lunch prices rise to 45 cents, 40 cents with weekly or monthly tickets. adults pay 55 cents daily or 50 cents with a ticket.
