In Fort Madison Iowa on January 7 three unmasked bandits held up a gambling resort. Jim Moore owner of the resort was wounded in three places while exchanging fire with the bandits who fled in a waiting car after looting about 260 dollars in cash and 800 in bank certificates. Pools of blood marked the stairway and near the car as Moore, wounded in the abdomen forearm and heel, was later treated in hospital. Officers have clues to the bandits and expect arrests soon.
