BEDFORD Iowa UPI two brothers Steven Brown 18 and Rex 19 were found dead on separate Taylor County farms after their car was abandoned on a county road. Investigators from the Taylor County sheriff county attorney and Iowa Bureau of Criminal Investigation concluded exposure caused the deaths after lab and medical exams.

Washington Volunteer Fire Department saw 94 calls in 1976 up from 69 in 1975 with 52 city and 42 rural blazes. Car-track fires led at 25, grass 18, structural 17, farm machines seven, false alarms five, bomb threats two, plus 20 miscellaneous calls.
