Joel Graham of Caledonia New York and John Hein of Cleveland were seized as two of ten alleged robbers linked to a brutal assault at the Joehlin home near Toledo. They allegedly attempted to bribe the arresting officer and offered conflicting alibis about their whereabouts during the torture of Christian Joehlin and his family seeking $20,000.

In Detroit last night Harry Forbes defeated Andy Tokell in ten rounds to retain the world bantamweight championship. Forbes dominated from start to finish, though Tokell twice wrestled Forbes to the floor amid apparent fouls. The English champion Tokell received applause and boos as referees warned both fighters.
