Relatives in Washington report the death of Mrs Harold F. Guyer at age 50 in Waterloo. Born in Washington, she lived most of life in Waterloo and belonged to United Brethren church and Eastern Star. Survived by husband, one daughter Mrs John Hoffman Jr, and four grandchildren. Funeral services Monday in Waterloo.
London reports from Prague say five students died in clashes tied to the Czechoslovak communist coup. A Foreign Office spokesman noted Britain will review ties with the new Prague government as details emerge.
London reports Britain orders ships to Belize and Honduras to deter imagined invasion fears. The West Indies flagship shert and the cruiser Devonshire lead troops toward Belize as Guatemala disputes claims, while officials denounce Guatemalan press for inflaming passions.
Four rural homemakers from Iowa will be honored by the Omaha chamber of commerce on March 4 for outstanding leadership in the community and home. Des Moines Feb 7 A rock Island Rocket freight collision at Iowa City Feb 1 killed one. Safety official H A Franklin said the freight failed to clear the main track in time and gave restrictive signals, causing the wreck.
Premier Stalin proposed Finland begin negotiations with Russia on a friendship and defense pact in a personal letter to President Paasikivi. Members of Prairie Flower Baptist church missionary society spent two months sewing a seven year supply of clothing for the Wagners, Tibet missionaries with China Inland Mission. The Wagners, Wilma Booth of the community and her husband, will return to China May 1 after a brief eastern visit, with Mrs Beenblossom adding a quilt and other items.

Mrs. Lida Fishburn 87 a native of West Chester and longtime resident of this community died at her daughter in law Mrs. Fred Kolesick home on Thursday night February 26. She had lived in Clinton recently but was brought to the Kolosick home for seven weeks of care. Funeral services will be held in Clinton Saturday with burial in Camanche Iowa. Jones funeral home handles arrangements.
Leland D. Carris a 49 year old from Washington Iowa was fined 300 dollars by District Judge J E Heiserman after pleading guilty to driving while intoxicated. The incident occurred within a few yards of Sheriff James Smith.
In Prague the leftist government rejected Anglo American French criticism as interference and asserted Western powers have no right to comment on Czechoslovakia’s internal affairs. President Benes earlier witnessed the oath of the new cabinet and urged stability. A foreign press conference was later limited by official censorship.
