Fire Causes Smoke Drenched Gym Evacuation
A small fire in the old gym and auditorium at the north balcony area caused heavy smoke but very little damage. Principal E Kelly Schlapkohl reported the smell of smoke, and students were evacuated with fire drill precision. Classes resumed after a short suspension.

UPI reports Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy arrived in Paris for the final leg of his around the world goodwill tour and will meet President Charles de Gaulle Tuesday. Mrs. E. C. Williams 45 of Afton died early today of a heart attack. She was the wife of a former Crawfordsville pastor who served at the United Presbyterian Church for five years until 1960.
