After four days of summit talks with President Nixon in Beijing, Premier Chou En-lai pledged to work unswervingly to promote friendship and normalization of relations with the United States. Nixon, fatigued, toasted that peace and harmony could be the destiny of the two peoples at a banquet in the Great Hall of the People.
