NEW YORK (UPI) Conrad Nagel, a leading silent and early talkies star, was found dead Tuesday in his Manhattan apartment at age 72. The cause was not immediately known. Nagel rose to fame in motion pictures and was active on stage and radio for years, born in Keokuk Iowa. He began his career with the Princess Stock Co. of Des Moines and debuted on Broadway in Forever After in 1918 before moving to Hollywood in 1919, later appearing in more than 200 pictures in the 1920s and 30s.
