Rioting recedes as South Omaha packs plan to bar Greek workers. Sheriff Bratley may arrest speakers for inciting riot. Property-damage suits totaling about 25000 dollars aimed at South Omaha. No Greeks return to packing houses.
Greek Minister L. A. Coromilas has sent dispatches to the state department about riots in South Omaha. He told officials the national government cannot intervene beyond urging Nebraska to provide protection, relying on state authorities.
Nashville report notes cross examination of Robin Cooper and John D. Sharp in the Cooper trial over Senator Edward Carmack’s slaying. The state argues the automatic revolver used is Sharp’s, with the weapon’s numbers entered in the record thrice.
Washington February 28 Engineer W. J. O Neill of Atlanta and Fireman Jobin Clay of Atlanta were badly scalded when the Washington Atlanta express of the Southern Railway derailed near Harbin Maryland.

Renowned New York surgeon Dr. William T. Bull died in Savannah on February 23 after a battle with cancer. He married Mrs. James Q. Blaine Jr. in 1898.
Johnny Summers of England won on points over Jimmy Britt of California in a twenty round fight at the National Sporting Club. The bout, held last November, followed Britt’s aggressive start and frequent clinching which drew referee warnings and several slips that reduced his speed during exchanges.

In Pensacola Florida on February 23 Ernest Martins fifteen was struck in the temple by a rock thrown by Hastman Spears colored. Spears not part of the fight but picked up a rock and struck Martins killing him. Spears was arrested.
In Indianapolis on February 23 the Indiana House of Representatives approved a bill requiring public schools to sing the full Star Spangled Banner. The measure moves to the Senate for consideration and could affect school ceremonies nationwide if enacted.
