Iowa NFO says it got no UAW funds in 1956 elections
Corbin Crawford and Duane Orton testified before the Iowa Legislature’s special committee investigating political contributions. Crawford said the Iowa National Farmers Organization never received any of the $3,000 or $4,000 given to the national group by the United Auto Workers. Orton added the money was given with no strings attached and not used for political purposes. Both are political aspirants. Crawford seeks lieutenant governor and Orton seeks Congress. National Honor Society elects officers at high school
Lois Boettcher was elected president of the National Honor Society with Roberta Wiley Yaro Chmelar Marlene Benn and Bill McCleery as officers.
