Peru Man Dies in Florida After Illness
Capt Ira B Myers of Peru Indiana died in Pensacola Florida from pneumonia after a brief illness. He went south with his wife and Mrs John OBrien of Indianapolis to wait out the winter. Myers was a prominent Republican and former postmaster in Peru and served as United States consul to St John New Brunswick beginning in 1896. He was a veteran of the Ninety Ninth Indiana volunteers.
