Frank Krejci, living with wife three miles east of Wellman, killed himself after family strife involving his father. The coroner ruled death by strychnine poisoning. A letter left by Krejci to his wife cited conflicts with his father as the motive. funeral plans unclear.
A citizen complains about performers speaking too fast at the opera house and fears lost gags. The letter questions the fate of a council water committee, warns of a dry season, and pledges support for Teeters amid a threat from a distant city.
Crowds from Crawfords ville Brighton Ainsworth Lexington and nearby towns travel to see Joe Cawthorne in A Fool for Luck with popular prices. He headlines with a strong Washington company attracting large attendance. Sioux City Feb 20 Special The body of farmer John Parks near Glen Ellen Iowa was found morning beside Peters Park station and Lakeport avenue Morning Side.
One hundred dollar reward offered for any catarrh cure that fails, with testimonials from Toledo merchants West Truax Walding Kinnan Marvin endorsing PF Cheney. Cure taken internally, claimed to act on blood and mucous membranes. price 75 cents per bottle.
The Hogan farm house west of Columbus Junction burned at dawn from a defective flue. Loss about 1000 dollars for the house and contents. insurance 500 dollars with T. Elliott of Libertyville. In a separate note, Tom Elliott of Libertyville died after a 50 foot fall from a bridge on a Chicago bound freight near Fort Madison while returning from a sheep shipment. He was 52.
George Fleck, 17, tells of being forced by his father into an attack on the Brown family at Payton. He describes threats and a shot gun clash in which his father was severely injured. The elder Brown and John Brown recover, and the Flecks face trial as court convenes in March.
Growing excitement surrounds late developments as Judge Blanchard approves Judge Ryan's plan to try the Conklin case on March 10 in Washington. State prosecutors promise new damaging evidence while defense and Conklin family prepare to testify. Myrtle Conklin subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury with Chester's testimony to be included.
A warm gathering at the Baptist church celebrated Washington's birthday with a flag adorned pulpit and portraits of George and Martha Washington. Miss Ross read on General Washington, Miss Kerr and Miss Sage presented a sketch on Washington's old home, and a varied musical program followed including piano duets and solos. The event raised about $14 from a 10 cent admission and ended with an art gallery contest in the Sunday school room.

Creston notes Pat Martin was captured after a November fugitive chase ending in Iowa. a Hastings pursuit followed. In Creston on February 20 residents marked Washington's Birthday with school programs.
The Rathbone Sisters and K P Knights held a social last night at Mr and Mrs J A Y Ashbys with over forty attendees. Activities included games and a shared supper. Miss Verne Ashby performed piano solos. The event earned praise as one of their best socials.
