City Plans Free X Ray Clinic To Fight Tuberculosis
A mobile X ray unit will operate in Washington county for ten days starting February 27. City chairman Mrs. Wilson Putnam led a Thursday meeting at the high school to explain the program and answer questions. Block workers will canvass the city to distribute literature and recruit participants for free X rays, aiming to locate unseen TB causes.

Mrs. Rose Kuhn 74 died at her son Marcus Kuhn’s Wayland home after a monthlong illness. Funeral services under Jones Funeral Home Washington are planned for Monday. Weather by United Press Iowa predicts mostly cloudy conditions with occasional showers and thunder tonight, then colder in the far west. Saturday brings cloudy and cold with showers especially in the east, lows 25 to 30 northwest and near 45 southeast, highs 35 to 45. Sunday turns generally fair and warmer. Temperatures through Wednesday average 7 to 10 degrees above normal with near normal lows and highs but a colder Saturday followed by a warming trend and minor daily changes. Precipitation expected near one tenth inch northwest to half an inch southeast, with showers tonight and again around Monday or Tuesday.
