Louis B K B Partridge postmaster of Kenesaw fell on his head after noon yesterday, dying instantly. Investigators say a departmental books shortage of about 1500 dollars prompted his act. Partridge had served six years as postmaster and held various county offices.
Burglars blew open the Brooks bank safe in Corning Iowa and fled under cover of darkness. The blast shattered the door and damaged the front of the building. Citizens armed with shotguns and rifles fired toward the burglars, who escaped unharmed. Two men were arrested on suspicion.
