A downtown Washington store window displays Ed Mineart of Brighton s 18 year equine collection. More than 300 carved and figurine horses from the United States are shown, including peanut shell and reed pieces. The prized carvings include a life like stage coach ore cart and settler s wagon, each taking about a month and a half to make. The display will be short and then return to Mineart s Brighton home.

YMCA membership drive tops quota at victory dinner
Washingtons annual YMCA enrollment effort exceeded its quota by a comfortable margin at the victory dinner Tuesday at Captain's Table. Herbert Campbell chaired the report session as section leaders showed all surpassed targets with John Reed tallying $1,538 and Wayne Knupp $1,098.50. Total raised was $5,798.25 with 880 members signed. Robert Day presided over a brief Y's Men's Club meeting. Mary Ellen McNeill and Mrs James Rossen provided the program with folk songs.

Johnson raises interest on U.S. savings bonds
