Tax Filing Fees and Sales Tax Studied as Iowa Revenue Sources
Iowa lawmakers eyed new revenue options as House Ways and Means heard a study noting a $5 filing fee on state income tax returns could raise about 3 million dollars annually while a 3 cent sales tax on most items would bring 16 to 17 million dollars.
