Fifteen members of Nebraska's agricultural committee toured Iowa State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts visiting buildings equipment livestock and facilities to learn agricultural instruction methods. The trip aimed to improve Nebraska's state college.

Lt. Gen. Nelson A. Miles and his wife arrived in New York aboard the Lucania after a five month world journey. The party visited Manila Tokyo Port Arthur Pekin and Hong Kong and met the emperor and dowager empress in Beijing while noting Japanese and Chinese troops and the legation guard.
General Miles and Mrs Miles toured northern China to Siberia and Moscow while visiting England. An invitation to meet the czar was delayed. Mrs Miles was reportedly not invited to Windsor by oversight. Gardner, a former White House physician, died in Washington of typhoid fever. In Michigan and Iowa reports, a workman survived a flywheel accident with broken ribs, and a mine explosion caused injuries and fatalities.
