Hospital Board Approves Ten Point Energy Conservation Plan
Washington County Hospital administrator Norman Jensen outlined a 10 point energy program at the regular board meeting to cut costs after January 1974 gas and electric bills rose nearly 1000 dollars from the previous year. The plan includes minimal front entry lighting, no exterior Christmas lights, heated area controls set to 68 degrees, reduced winter air conditioning, turning off unused lights, conserving hot water, repairing leaks, and immediate fixes for faucets and valves. The trustees approved a 507 dollar appropriation from a Coffey estate to buy a paging system for Long Term Care, and notified of a March 28 Medicare licensure inspection.

Oil chief urges jet fuel output rise and rationing plan
