Jury Clears Trucker of Driving Charge in Iowa City
Iowa City reporter: Warren H. Johnson, 32, Martelle, was cleared of four manslaughter charges by the Johnson County grand jury. Johnson, driver of a truck, killed Elwood Dvorsky, 17, Solon, on January 2. The jury returned a no bill noting the chauffeur license issuance should be remanded. Fred Steigleder 36 of Adel Iowa was killed in a highway six head on crash when his car crossed the center line three miles east of Packwood. Bus driver Clarence Adde 44 of Omaha and passenger Janice Collins 7 of Des Moines were injured but not seriously.

Semi-Trailer Truck Crash Near West Chester
A semi-trailer driven by Dormen D Vestal of Des Moines failed to negotiate a curve on highway 2 east of West Chester at 7 20 this morning. It ran into a grain storage bin of the Commodity Credit Corporation, spilling about 400 bushels of corn and overturning. Damages to the truck loaded with cosmetics were about 400 dollars.
