Peter Wittrig, 80, longtime harness maker and farmer in Washington, Iowa, died at 11 34 p m at his daughter Iva Wittmer's home after six weeks illness. He was born February 12, 1866, in southern Iowa, married Martha Haming in Illinois, and later Anna Henke in Rock Island. Survived by two sons Howard Vernon and daughter Mrs Wittmer, six grandchildren five great grandchildren and sister Mrs Susan Augsburger Tremont Ill. Funeral at 2 30 p m Saturday at Presbyterian church. Burial Kicher cemetery. He lived in Washington since 1926 with interludes in Kalona Miner Milner and Wayland. One son Arthur died in 1911.
