Rural guards near Havana attempted to sail to Cabanas fortress to protest a decree transferring one battalion from the rural guard to the permanent army. They blocked palace access, demanded President Gomez see them, but were repelled when revolvers were shown. Order was restored and mutineers were escorted to Cabanas.
