Assessments set for Iowa counties to repay embezzled funds

Special assessments totaling 130082 dollars have been sent to all 99 Iowa counties to reimburse Taylor County for funds embezzled by former treasurer Ward Poore. The notices, based on property valuations, assign amounts from 333 dollars in Clarke County to 10099 dollars in Polk County.
