Soybean Planting Rules for 1968 Feed Grain Acreage
The U S Department of Agriculture will not substitute soybeans for corn in 1968 on feed grain acreage. Farmers can sign up divert 20 to 50 percent of base and plant up to 50 percent of feed grain base to corn and grain sorghum to gain maximum price support. Remaining acreage may be planted to other crops. Soybean price support remains at the 1966 level to keep domestic and export markets stable. The decision follows ample soybean supplies from 1966 and 1967 and producer consultations in 11 states last fall.
