James Richard Hesseltine born January 30 1933 died early this morning at the county hospital. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the L A Jones funeral home with Rev F C Witzigman in charge followed by burial in Sandy Hook cemetery. He was the son of Carl and Judith Marek Hesseltine.

Pancakes Served At Kalona Store Demonstration
Kalona February 6 At the Re plogle pancake flour demonstration at KE Hesselschwerdt general merchandise store about 1200 people were served 3000 pancakes 22 pounds of butter 10 gallons of syrup 7 pounds of coffee 25 gallons. The store was crowded with standing room only as locals waited for pancakes. Hesselschwerdt employed eight helpers with Re plogle and Maxwell House reps assisting. At six o'clock steak and chicken suppers were served to helpers.

Washington county ministers expect about misters from SE Iowa and west central Illinois to attend the second annual convocation in Burlington. Sessions occur Feb 8 at Congregational and First Methodist churches with a luncheon at Congregational and a mass meeting at the Methodist church.
