Burlington Sisters Die and Survive After Gas Inhalation
Alma Sater an 80 year old woman survived in critical condition while her sister Mary Slater 75 died from inhaling coal gas fumes from a stove at their Burlington Iowa home. The sisters were overcome about 10 am yesterday and the younger sister died shortly after noon. The older sister crawled for six hours seeking a telephone and later summoned strength to call for help.
