Fire at Keota school destroys building and insures loss
Keota residents faced a fire at the local school shortly after noon, thought to have started in the furnace. The interior burned before discovery, spreading rapidly in the old structure. Siding insured for 4000 dollars and contents for 500, building valued at 10000. Directors consider using vacant buildings for students while a new structure is erected. Downstreet reports also note infant Mary Schaffer of Peoria died after pneumonia and services set for Keota.
