Kohoutek dimmer but holds clues to solar system origin
NASA scientists report comet Kohoutek contains methylcyanide, a complex molecule linking to interstellar space at the Milky Way center. The dimmer brightness reduces visibility and tail length, while the finding supports theories that comets form in the space between stars and may be older than Moon rocks.
