In Millbury Massachusetts on December 28 Clara LeMay fourteen was shot and killed by Charles Adams fifteen as she entered the Cordis cotton mill. Adams then shot himself suffering injuries from which he died later.
William Rockefeller, brother of John D Rockefeller and influential in Standard Oil and the New Haven Railroad, is reported seriously ill with lumbago of the larynx in New York. Pujo Committee subpoena efforts fail as investigators seek service and physicians note his limited ability to speak.
