Rock Island Plans New Direct Line From Drakeville to Kansas City
The Des Moines Capital reports Rock Island surveyors have begun work in Drakesville to map a direct southern air line to Kansas City. The proposed route would cut near Seymour and Unionville, giving the railroad its own line and enabling faster service to compete with Santa Fe. Completion is expected next spring.
