Rites Held Today For Man Who Claimed He Was 115 Years Old
Funeral services were held for Ed Harris a Cree Indian Negro who claimed he was 115. Harris died Wednesday at St Marys Hospital hospital attendants said old age caught up with him. He said he was born March 20 1839 on a Mississippi plantation official records reportedly verified this though Springfield statistics offered no proof. Harris drew old age assistance from the state on proof he was over 65.

He was born July 18 1877 in Jasper County Missouri married December 25 1901 in Sarcoxie to Fannie Hammer and is survived by three daughters, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a sister.

Four Held in Plot Against AFL Seafarers Leader
Police in New Jersey New York and Florida detained four men linked to an alleged plan to kill Paul Hall head of the AFL Seafarers International Union. The Florida gunman James Cobb said he was hired for 15000 dollars by Ray White the Tampa port agent. White was arrested and denied involvement. Cobb was to ambush Hall at his Montvale home with a shotgun. Others named include Edward Taff and Carmen Piore both arrested in New York with Taff’s home in West Milford, New Jersey.
