In Davenport on December 24 a magazine truck and a 1948 Buick collided killing William Block 20 and Frank Stevenson 20 and injuring five others. Truck driver Clarence Fullam 57 from Des Moines was seriously hurt. Davenport victims Eileen Weir 19 Arthur Sears 22 Suzanne Mueller 18 and Nancy Stock 19 were treated, all from Davenport or nearby Pleasant Valley.
