W A Goodspeed Dies in Chicago at 74 After Noted Career
Weston A. Goodspeed, formerly of Mendota and Iowa, died at 327 Englewood Ave Chicago December 70 1926 after moving from the county. He wrote and edited local histories and prepared volumes on Goodspeed Genealogy and Palmer's Cyclopedia. He was born September 6 1852 to Marshall and Cordelia Petty Goodspeed.

Washington county board approves drainage plans for roads
At a special session the Washington county board of supervisors approved plans and specifications for two highway drainage districts. Bids are to be received February 2 1927 at 1 30 pm. C L Young of Muscatine prepared the plans. District No 8 covers east edge of town and North district No 9 includes the area north of town. Work must start when weather permits and be completed by early September with plans on file at the courthouse.
