Spokane report outlines a coalition of lumbermen from six states owning vast Idaho panhandle forests. It seeks cooperation with the forestry department led by Gifford Pinchot to protect timber including hundreds of thousands of acres in the national forest reserve. The group, which spent over 100000 on trails and patrols this year, aims to build twenty dams at Coeur d Alene St Maries and St Joe headwaters to create reservoirs for fire fighting, steady flows for logging and mining, flood control, and increased rainfall.
