Two cases before Mayor Geo Ross drew attention to jurisdiction. Tobin versus Dawson concerned rent and premises damage. plaintiffs attorney Butterfield appeared while Wilson and Brookhart defended. The matter was dismissed with plans to refile in Jackson township.
Mr. Fox at Narrow Gauge station forty and eleven times yesterday faced patrons puzzled by a flood caused when McCleery and Berdo watered hogs at the stock yards and left a valve to a depot pipe open. Water escaped for several gallons before assistant John McConnaughey found it in the afternoon.
Sheriff Teeter detains two men in county jail suspected of fencing stolen goods after selling new trousers around town. They provided the names Blake and Carlson as their identities. School near Kalona closes due to local diphtheria outbreak. suggests no other county cases reported.
The forecast for Iowa is partly cloudy tonight and Wednesday with a slight warmup. Real estate transfers from Dec 15 to Dec 20 listed include Wim. P.
