46 County Men To Army Tonight
Late tonight a group of 46 Washington county selectees will leave for Camp Dodge to enter active service in the U S army. Inducted last Saturday they have spent the past week at home and will assemble at the Legion rooms in the city hall at one o clock, coffee and doughnuts provided by the Chamber of Commerce before boarding a bus to the camp near Des Moines. Twenty three county youths who turned 18 in July and August have registered at the selective service board as part of the sixth registration for military service. Three previously unlisted names are Le Roy Vernon Bopp and Russell Le Roy Drollinger of Kalona and William Hugh Jones of Crawfordsville. The week for those born in July and August ended yesterday. next week covers September and October birthdays. One registrant this morning was Donald Leroy Phillips of Washington.
