Alexander Howat president of Kare sus District is held as a debate on repeal of war time measures proceeds in Washington D C. An unfavorable report on the bill to repeal the war time act was ordered today by the committee by a vote of sixteen to three.
The U S Supreme Court ruled the wartime prohibition act constitutional in a New York case involving withdrawal of whisky from bonded warehouses for beverage use. The decision overruled a Kentucky district court ruling, affecting about 500 million dollars of Kentucky whisky deemed valueless for domestic sale but potentially exportable.
