Children at St James School will present a Christmas program on Friday December 17 at 7 30 p m in the school gymnasium. The show features slides created from the students illustrations of Christmas songs and the public is invited.
The trial of the State of Iowa versus Joe Houston went to the jury at 1 p.m. today for alleged theft of merchandise from the Arco warehouse in Ainsworth months earlier. His brother Richard Houston was previously found guilty in the same incident and is free on bond during appeal from a ten year district court sentence.
William Lloyd Teilsworth of Columbus Junction drove into a stop light at the northwest Washington square at 8 30 p m Tuesday pushing it into a J C Penney window. Police say brakes failed as he reached the intersection. Vehicle damage 500 dollars. Store and light pole damage 1200 dollars. Teilsworth charged with OMVUI.
Pakistan quits the Security Council denouncing the United Nations as a fraud and a force delaying action in the Indo Pakistan conflict until India could seize Dacca and East Pakistan. China vows to veto a Poland backed pro Indian resolution as the council meets.
