Des Moines reports that organized rural bandit gangs are being dwindled by efficient law enforcement. Potsander Service Set for Wellman Resident
Funeral services for James Potsander 83 will be held at the Methodist church in Wellman Wednesday at two in the afternoon conducted by Rev. T C Kennedy. Burial will be at Wellman cemetery. He died at his son Tony’s home after a brief illness born in Prague Bohemia September 28 1847 arrived in the U S at 16 settled near Wellman married Anna Yeurous December 14 1871 she died December 14 1980. Surviving are three sons James Jr Tony and Fred six grandchildren.

Wellman, Dew. 15 Helmer's Clothing Store in the Odd Fellows building was badly damaged by fire and water around seven this morning. The blaze started in the basement near the furnace and climbed to the first floor. It was spotted by Carroll Durian as he passed by. Owner A L Helmer was in Chicago on business. Insurance is expected to cover part of the loss and the building and lodge equipment likely have coverage. Helmer's shop included men’s clothing, ladies’ wear, and a beauty parlor was being installed.
