Jet Crashes in Duluth Kills Three Airmen
A B47 bomber from Lincoln Nebraska crashed within Duluth city limits after circling the air field in an apparent emergency. Maj William Gardiner Capt William Baldwin and Capt Byron Blackmore, all based in Lincoln, were killed. Baldwin's last words were reported as No nuts we are not going to make it.

Clinton Man Dies During Tavern Brawl
Clinton 21 year old Arthur House collapsed and died during a tavern fight at the Dutch Treat. Maynard Schultz 30, also of Clinton, was involved and held on tentative homicide charges as autopsy and inquest were planned.
