The Wednesday Study Club will sponsor The Christmas Vespers at the Crawfordsville Methodist Church on Sunday Dec 18 at 7 30 p m. Art Hill of Riverside is named as a member of the Washington city police force and will start duties January 1, with resignation from Riverside effective December 30. He formerly drove a Riverside public school bus. The Hills will relocate to 202 East Second Street Washington. Washington's police force now includes Chief Mike Lee Ted Crone Jack Cherry and Woody Richards.
A public meeting is set for Thursday evening at 7 30 at the courthouse to review Fred Gessler of Washington and his traffic accident prevention plan. The plan includes a reporting system for traffic violators. Citizens are urged to attend, with emphasis on women’s participation.

Two West Union men were arrested in Minneapolis for questioning about the theft of between 40 and 60 mink pelts from the Lester Lohr mink farm drying shed in Fayette County Iowa. They were to be returned for prosecution on the robbery charge.
West Chester schools staged their annual Christmas program Tuesday evening in the school building under Mrs. James Pumroy. The school band directed by Ivan Rich performed several selections and the glee club sang. Grade students participated, singing Christmas songs.
