Washington Dec 14 The Republican National Committee chose Chicago as the site for the next national convention with a June 21, 12 oclock meeting time set. Pittsburgh and St Louis urged rival bids while Chicago claimed advantages and a strong party network.
Mia David Skinner of Spencer Iowa, totally blind, donates her entire fortune of 10000 to Drake University with the condition that her needs for life be provided by the university. She is aged and unlikely to live long and is noted for sweetness of character and philanthropy. She previously served as postmistress in Spencer.
Joliet Illinois December 12. Parole board adjourned without considering banker Dreyer case and no session before January. Dreyer completed eleven months service last month and action was postponed indefinitely at prior meeting. KE. A. Snively and Andrew Russell were the only members present.
Columbus Ellsworth Upton and Charles W McGregor former postal clerks in Washington were found guilty of postal frauds last Thursday. Judge Morris sentenced both to two years in Maryland penitentiary and a $1000 fine each. Appeals were filed by their counsel.
George Grant aged in St. Paul pleaded guilty to stealing jewelry alleged to belong to a friend family associate, with the case noting the suspect may be misidentified as Joseph Goosa in the indictment. The court action centers on theft allegations and the defendant's admission of guilt.

He previously attempted suicide and his mental state is linked to the misconduct of former cashier Harry J Hoover who was recently sentenced to five years for making false entries at the bank.
May Rice, 16, testified in Baltimore court that she will not live with her divorced mother who badly spanked her. She asks the court to appoint a new guardian.

Following Judge Honore’s injunction dissolution that allowed track removal by the Suburban Electric railway, residents of Austin Chicago suburb tore up rails on West Randolph St last night. About fifty men gathered at EK Golden’s drug store West Madison St and armed with tools set out to practical work.
Paris reports Lord Abinger died in a hospital from injuries after a fall down restaurant stairs. Born 1871, he was unmarried and mostly with his London mother. John Warner, ornamental iron worker, clung to a beam 100 feet above the shaft in the Railway Exchange building before losing his grip and plummeting to his death. Sheep receipts around 1 000 with western and native lambs priced 2.40 to 5.80. East Buffalo reports 40 car lots with hogs 4.75 to 4.85 and calves to 7.50. St Louis grain shows No 2 red wheat at 9 to 11 12c and No 2 corn steady around 4 to 4 4c.
