Live cattle hog markets steady to higher at Joliet auction
In Joliet Illinois live cattle sales reached 5000 head with steers and heifers holding firm to strong. High end steers traded 38.00 to 39.50 with some at 40.00, while heifers maxed 39.00. Hogs rose 50 cents to 1 dollar with No 1-2 200-230 lb at 40.25 to 41.00 and lighter weights around 38.00 to 40.25. Tuesday receipts projected 300 cattle and 800 hogs.

Lutheran Church Farewell for Fettermans Moving to Treynor
The Immanuel Lutheran Church fellowship hall was filled after the morning service to honor the Einar Fetterman family who move this week to take duties at a Lutheran church in Treynor. Rev Fetterman and his family spoke brief remarks and received a Dove of Peace statue as a parting gift. A group of about 20 youths sang in their honor and joined a dinner program.
