James S. Shearer, seven year treasurer of Washington County, died Sunday afternoon at his Green Castle home in Indiana at about 83. His body will arrive in Washington Tuesday morning with funeral services set for Tuesday at 2:30 PM at the Presbyterian church. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. He spent most of his life in Washington and moved to Green Castle about a year ago to live with his two daughters, Miss Mayme and Miss Dade Shearer.
