Butte Montana authorities authorize demolishing unsafe old structures and distributing wood to residents. Cold weather across Colorado Wyoming and Montana drives coal shortages and fuel rationing, with trains delayed and hunger rising as relief funds are augmented.
Montana towns including Shelby Deer Lodge Bozeman and Bridger report coal shortages and record cold. Temperatures drop to 26 degrees below zero in the region as the cold wave spreads south into Oregon where some areas reach 25 degrees below zero. Bridger suffers further when its light water and power plant is destroyed by fire.
U S Justice agents from Jacksonville arrested Charles Francis Alexander Ducereon at Port Of Tampa on charges of stealing government plans for the Liberty motor.
