Mrs. M McRaney of Prentiss Mississippi writes of three months bedridden with kidney and bladder trouble. After failing with two doctors she took Foley’s Kidney Remedy and two bottles later she felt like a new person and urges other women to try it through Lemon's Pharmacy.
New fashions for winter balls feature artificial corsage flowers on white frocks with red or pink blooms and ribbon bandeaus in hair. Young women favor white gowns in chiffon net crepe de chine cashmere voile and satin, while black brussels net gowns with white or colored slips appear. Directoire and princess styles dominate with draped sashes and knots, often starting at the shoulder and looping across the waist or front with decorative bows and gold or silver trim.
The article explains sashes on gowns end at the front sides, made of silk satin chiffon or gauze, matching diaphanous fabrics. It also notes new evening slippers and gloves with short slippers just over the toes, favoring open strappy styles.
