Mrs. N. L. Beck of Dubuque reports a theft in the shopping district. Her purse contained $200 in cash and two signed checks for 20 dollars and 7.70 dollars.
Mrs. Nathan Hoskins a 70 year old Fairfield woman was bitten on the ankle by a skunk as she went to the barn to milk. She tried to fight the animal with milk pails and was taken to Fairfield for medical treatment amid rabies fears.
Johnson County supervisor Frank J. Krall says the county will sue Iowa City for 3965 dollars for boarding city prisoners in the county jail. A bill for the amount has been presented but not paid.
Iowa State College faced a gap of 207 more job calls for home economics teachers than positions filled in the last year though 106 graduates were placed. Miss Regina Friant notes education grads mostly enter teaching, yet demand exceeds supply over the past two years.

Lester Laverne and Lauvenne are under care at Florence Crittenden home in Sioux City. The head of the family works as a laborer for the Iowa State highway commission. The Wycoffs have been married ten years.
Audubon women proposed a dish towel chain where each participant would receive 27 towels for the three she sent out. The idea was rejected by the Women's Foreign Missionary Society amid lingering doubt after the 1935 chain-letter collapse.
Scott county officials and Davenport police are deadlocked over who has jurisdiction in a driveway between the courthouse and jail. Police plastered traffic violation stickers on county officials’ cars, prompting the dispute.
